Caitlin Gerstein only recently joined the CHARM Lab but has already been awarded a Magellan Journey grant to support her work in the lab. With support from our existing lab members, Gerstein identified the Journey as an important means of facilitating her existing interest in health research. The funding will enable her to support the work of Dr. Fillo’s existing NIH-funded K01 grant “Dyadic Influence Processes Among Heavy Drinking Couples.” Dr. Fillo’s stellar track record of securing grant funding from the Office of Undergraduate Research ensures that students are able to obtain research experience and receive fair compensation for their work with the lab. Congratulations on your award, Caitlin! We are excited to have you continue with the CHARM lab throughout your career at University of South Carolina!
