CHARM Lab undergraduate research assistant John Bruno was recently awarded a Magellan Explorer Grant from the Office of Undergraduate Research. Bruno’s grant project focuses on applying PRISMA-ScR standards to a scoping review of risk for alcohol misuse among student service members and veterans. The PRISMA-ScR standards are utilized to map evidence on a particular topic and identify the main concepts, theories, sources, and knowledge gaps. With this scoping review, Bruno, Dr. Fillo, and the rest of the team will identify knowledge gaps in the literature on alcohol misuse in the aforementioned population. The scoping review will, in turn, inform the implementation of an upcoming cognitive interview with the student service member and veterans population. Congratulations to John and Dr. Fillo for securing funding for an incredibly important research question!
