Building upon her current and past work on military populations, Dr. Fillo recently received an ASPIRE (Advanced Support for Innovative Research Excellence) Grant for a project entitled “Mixed-methods examination of intersecting risk factors for alcohol misuse among student service members and veterans.” The ASPIRE program aims to support early-career faculty in beginning promising new research for later external funding. With this funding opportunity, Dr. Fillo and the team will emphasize the unique risk for alcohol misuse within an understudied population.
